Pilates Programs (Group and Clinical)
If you have ever been told to “strengthen your core” for better posture, to prevent injuries, or to relieve back pain, chances are someone has recommended Pilates. But what exactly is Pilates—and how is Clinical Pilates different?
Pilates is a low-impact exercise method designed to strengthen your core, improve flexibility, and enhance overall body awareness.
Through slow, controlled movements and focused breathing, Pilates helps you build stability, improve posture, and move more efficiently in everyday life.
It’s suitable for all ages and fitness levels, making it a great option whether you’re recovering from an injury, looking to prevent one, or simply wanting to feel stronger and more balanced in your body.
But why is this important?
Think of your core as your body’s foundation. It stabilises your spine, supports your posture, and allows for efficient movement in everything you do—whether you are lifting groceries, running after your kids, or sitting at a desk all day. A strong and balanced core improves performance and prevents the kind of everyday injuries that can result from poor movement habits.
Clinical Pilates
Clinical Pilates takes the traditional principles of Pilates and tailors them to the individual. It combines evidence-based rehabilitation techniques with Pilates equipment and movement strategies; meaning each exercise is carefully selected based on your physical condition, injuries, or goals.
Whether you are recovering from an injury, managing a chronic condition, or wanting to move more confidently, Clinical Pilates offers a targeted and safe approach to exercise.
Our Exercise Physiologist and Physiotherapist offer this in a one-on-one setting. They will initially conduct a baseline movement assessment, identify any weaknesses or injuries, discuss your goals, and build a program just for you.
Small-Group Pilates Classes
We also offer small-scale group classes led by our Qualified Pilates Instructor. Beginner and Intermediate classes are available, each utilising a diverse selection of equipment - Reformer, Wunder Chair, and Matt, to ensure there is a safe and suitable option for all participants.
While not entirely individualised, the small class size allows the practitioner to offer close supervision, personalised feedback, and tailored modifications to suit your specific needs
Summary Clinical Pilates vs. Group Pilates
Whether you chose clinical or group Pilates, you will be guided closely by our trained therapist and practitioners to make sure every movement is safe, effective, and beneficial for your body.
