1. Tell us about yourself and your qualifications
I’m a physiotherapist with a Bachelor of Health Sciences & Masters of Physiotherapy, as well as being a qualified Pilates Instructor. I am passionate about helping people feel confident and capable in their bodies. I’m still early in my career, but one of my favourite parts about this career path is that you are constantly learning. With new research being released constantly, in conjunction with the fact that no two client presentations are ever the same, it’s a profession that is sure to keep you on your toes. I look forward to working closely with clients to support their goals, whether that’s recovering from an injury, improving strength, or just moving better in everyday life.
2. What physio services do you offer?
I offer musculoskeletal physiotherapy, including assessment and treatment for common injuries, aches and pains or on-going concerns. In our sessions you could expect some hands-on treatment, personalised exercise programs, and education to help you understand your body and feel in control of your recovery. I also love to incorporate Pilates-based exercises to support strength, mobility, and long-term results.
3. What inspired you to become a physiotherapist?
I’ve always loved movement, health, and the idea of helping people feel their best. Physiotherapy stood out to me because it blends problem-solving with human connection. When you have the opportunity to get to really understand someone’s story and what has led to them coming to see you, you are able to use movement to make a genuine difference in their life. Plus, I love to chat - you would be surprised how much of the sessions involves just being conversational.
4. What are the benefits of physiotherapy?
Physiotherapy can help reduce pain, improve mobility and strength, and support your body’s natural healing process. It’s also great for preventing injuries or re-injury, building confidence in how you move, and getting you back to the activities you love. One of the best parts is that physiotherapy is so variable – your sessions should be personalised, and your treatment tailored specifically to you and your goals.
5. What are the benefits of a Pilates and Physiotherapy approach?
Pilates and physiotherapy can work hand in hand. Physiotherapy is usually the beginning of the road, and a thorough assessment is designed to identify what your body needs - whether that’s muscular strength, balance + control, joint mobility or just general exposure to exercise. Pilates provides a structured, low-impact way to build those foundations, and then continue to something more long-term. Once any initial impairments have been addressed, Pilates is the perfect way to remain active, mobile and strong for years to come.
6. How many times a week should I do Pilates?
Like anything, it depends on your goals and what we are trying to achieve - but generally 1–2 sessions per week is a great place to start. If you’re focusing on building strength, improving movement patterns, or supporting rehab, consistency is key. Even one session a week can make a difference when it’s regular. Some people love doing more, and paired with good nutrition and recovery, you can be doing Pilates quite often! But we’ll always work together to tailor a plan that fits your body and your schedule.
7. Would you recommend Pilates for rehabilitation?
Absolutely. Pilates is an excellent rehab tool because it focuses on controlled, intentional movement. It allows you to strengthen safely, improve mobility, and rebuild confidence at a pace that suits your body. Pilates is such a broad modality, and can be stripped right back to something simple, or with the addition of resistance can become really challenging, so you can really continue all the way from initial injury to late-stage rehabilitation. As a physio, I can guide you through exercises that are specifically chosen for your injury or goals, so you’re getting the right challenge without overloading anything.
8. Tell us a bit about the new Balance & Falls Prevention Classes.
We’re really excited to be introducing our new Balance & Falls Prevention classes in the new year. These sessions are run by our physiotherapy team - either myself or Alec - and are designed specifically for people who feel a little unsteady on their feet, have noticed changes in their balance, or may have experienced a fall in the past.
We know how frightening and confidence-shaking a fall can be. It’s something no one wants to go through, and it can really affect the way you move day to day. That’s a big part of why we wanted to create these classes. We want to support our community in feeling safer, steadier, and more confident in your body again.
Throughout the program, we’ll be working on all the different components that make up good balance. This includes practising steadiness while standing still, building confidence moving through everyday activities, and training quick reactions for those moments when you might lose your footing unexpectedly. Everything is tailored, gentle, and guided by a physio so you can feel supported every step of the way.
Classes will be starting in the new year, and if you or someone you know would benefit, we’d love to help. Just give the clinic a call or send us an email to register your interest or ask any questions.
