VALD Performance

Advanced VALD Performance Testing & Assessment

Measure More. Understand More. Perform Better.

At Resilient Health Group, we use some of the world’s most advanced performance assessment technology to understand how your body moves, produces force and responds to training.

Our VALD Performance technology combines objective data with the expertise of our clinicians and performance professionals, giving us a clearer picture of your strength, power, movement, mobility, balance and physical performance.

Our gym is equipped with four powerful VALD systems — ForceDecks, ForceFrame, DynaMo and HumanTrak — allowing us to assess a wide range of physical qualities and track meaningful changes over time.

Whether you are an athlete looking to improve performance, returning to sport following injury, building strength and resilience, or simply wanting a better understanding of how your body performs, objective testing can provide valuable information to guide your training and rehabilitation.

Why we use VALD Performance Technology?

Traditional assessments often rely heavily on observation and subjective measures. While these remain important, objective testing can provide another layer of information by showing us how much force you can produce, how quickly you can produce it, how you move, where asymmetries may exist and how your performance changes over time.

VALD's technology is designed to make sophisticated performance testing more accessible, repeatable and practical outside of a traditional laboratory environment. Its systems can be used across healthcare, rehabilitation, strength and conditioning and athletic performance settings.

At Resilient Health Group, we can use this information to help:

  • Establish a baseline of your physical performance

  • Identify areas of strength and weakness

  • Assess left-to-right differences and asymmetries

  • Measure strength, power and force production

  • Assess movement quality and mobility

  • Monitor rehabilitation and return-to-sport progress

  • Track changes throughout a training program

  • Set objective performance targets

  • Help guide exercise selection and progression

  • Give you clear, measurable feedback on your progress

Most importantly, the technology doesn't replace clinical or coaching expertise — it enhances it. We combine objective data with your history, goals, symptoms, training demands and physical assessment to create a more complete picture of your performance.

Our VALD Performance Equipment

ForceDecks — Force Plate Testing

ForceDecks are advanced dual force plates that allow us to measure how you produce and apply force during a range of movements and performance tests.

Force plate testing can provide valuable information about strength, power, jump performance, landing mechanics, balance and asymmetry. ForceDecks can automatically assess more than 20 movements, including different jump tests, isometric strength assessments, squats and functional tests.

This makes ForceDecks particularly useful when we want to quantify aspects of performance that are difficult to accurately assess with the naked eye.

Depending on your goals, ForceDecks testing may help us assess:

  • Jump height and performance

  • Explosive power

  • Force production

  • Rate of force development

  • Lower-limb asymmetry

  • Landing strategies

  • Balance and postural control

  • Isometric strength

  • Movement performance

ForceDecks can be particularly valuable for athletes, strength and conditioning programs, rehabilitation and return-to-sport testing.

Rather than simply asking whether you are getting stronger or more explosive, we can use objective data to measure how your performance is changing.

ForceFrame — Isometric Strength Testing

ForceFrame is a versatile fixed-frame dynamometry system designed for repeatable isometric strength testing and training.

It can be configured to assess strength across many major joints and muscle groups, including the hip, knee, ankle, shoulder, elbow, wrist and neck. Its adjustable design allows testing positions to be standardised, helping us obtain repeatable measurements over time.

ForceFrame can help us quantify isolated strength and identify differences between sides or muscle groups.

It can be used for:

  • Hip abduction and adduction testing

  • Knee strength assessment

  • Shoulder strength testing

  • Ankle and plantar-flexor testing

  • Isometric strength assessment

  • Side-to-side strength comparison

  • Rehabilitation monitoring

  • Return-to-sport testing

  • Isometric strength training

One of the major advantages of ForceFrame is the ability to test and train using the same system. Testing results can be used to establish individualised targets and guide isometric training.

This creates a practical feedback loop: test → identify → train → retest.

DynaMo — Strength & Range of Motion Testing

DynaMo is a portable handheld dynamometer and inclinometer system that allows us to assess strength and range of motion across the body.

Its versatility means it can be used for hundreds of different tests, including pushing, pulling, gripping and range-of-motion assessments. DynaMo can also be used handheld or fixed to different surfaces to improve consistency during testing.

DynaMo allows us to assess individual joints and muscle groups in a highly targeted way.

This can include:

  • Knee flexion and extension strength

  • Hip strength

  • Shoulder strength

  • Ankle strength

  • Grip strength

  • Upper-limb strength

  • Lower-limb strength

  • Joint range of motion

  • Side-to-side differences

  • Strength progression during rehabilitation

Because DynaMo is portable and adaptable, it can complement larger testing systems such as ForceDecks and ForceFrame.

For example, ForceDecks may give us information about whole-body force production during a movement, while DynaMo can help us investigate specific joint or muscle-group strength in greater detail.

HumanTrak — 3D Movement Analysis

HumanTrak is a markerless 3D movement analysis system that allows us to assess movement without the need for traditional reflective markers.

Using 3D motion capture technology, HumanTrak can analyse movement and provide immediate results, allowing us to look beyond what can be seen with the naked eye.

HumanTrak can help assess movement across a range of single- and multi-joint tasks, while also providing information about compensatory movement patterns.

This can help us assess:

  • Squatting and movement patterns

  • Mobility

  • Joint range of motion

  • Left-to-right movement differences

  • Movement control

  • Compensatory strategies

  • Functional movement

  • Changes in movement quality over time

One of the key advantages of HumanTrak is that it provides context around movement rather than simply producing a single number. For example, an athlete may achieve a particular range of motion, but HumanTrak can help identify whether that movement is being achieved through a compensatory strategy.

This provides another valuable piece of information when developing rehabilitation, performance or training strategies.

Four Systems. One Complete Performance Picture.

The real value of our VALD technology comes from combining different forms of assessment.

ForceDecks can tell us about force production, power, jumping, landing and balance.

ForceFrame can help us measure repeatable isometric strength across specific joints and muscle groups.

DynaMo allows us to assess individual muscle and joint strength as well as range of motion.

HumanTrak gives us detailed information about how you move.

Together, these technologies can provide a much more comprehensive picture of physical performance than relying on a single test or measurement.

For example, if an athlete has reduced jump performance, we can investigate different contributing factors by combining force plate data, specific strength testing and movement analysis.

This helps us move beyond simply identifying what is happening and towards understanding why it may be happening.

Objective Data That Guides Your Training

Testing is only valuable when the information can be used.

At Resilient Health Group, we use VALD testing to help inform decisions around rehabilitation, strength and conditioning, performance development and return to sport.

Your results can establish a baseline against which future testing can be compared. This allows us to monitor changes throughout your program and make adjustments based on objective information.

VALD also provides integrated normative data across systems including ForceDecks, DynaMo, ForceFrame and HumanTrak, helping practitioners put individual results into context.

Rather than chasing arbitrary numbers, our goal is to understand your individual starting point, your demands and your progress.

Who Can Benefit From VALD Performance Testing?

VALD technology can be useful for a wide range of people — from elite athletes to everyday gym-goers.

Athletes

Measure key physical qualities, establish performance benchmarks and monitor changes throughout a training or competition cycle.

Returning From Injury

Objective strength, movement and performance testing can provide additional information when assessing rehabilitation progress and readiness for higher-level activity.
